December 02, 2006
Daikin once again exhibited at the 2006 Intermodal Transport and Logistics Show in Hamburg in December 2006.
This was one of Daikin’s most successful events yet, with a record number of visitors and enquiries at our exhibition stand from both the shipping and leasing sectors.
We would like to thank all of our existing and future customers, suppliers and business partners who took time out to meet with the Daikin and Itochu team in the exhibition and also at our drinks reception at Doc Cheng’s in the Raffles Four Seasons Hotel. It was our very great pleasure to host the reception and we hope that all of our guests had a productive and enjoyable evening.
Daikin presented ceremonial plaques to a number of key customers during Intermodal 2006 to mark the sale of the 75,000th LXE10E scroll unit.
In a ceremony on the Daikin stand during Wednesday 6 December, Toshiyuki Shimizu, General Manager of Reefer Sales for Daikin Industries, presented awards to Günter Kochan, Director of Logistics for Hamburg Süd and Keisuke Horiuchi, General Manager, East West Trades, for Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL). MOL was the first customer to purchase the LXE10E design, and Hamburg Süd took delivery of the 75,000th unit as part of a batch delivered during November of last year. Speaking during the awards, David Marjoram, General Manager, Refrigeration Business Unit for Itochu Europe plc, commented:
“Back in 2001 at the Intermodal exhibition here in Hamburg, Daikin unveiled its new LXE10E machine to the container industry. Who would have believed that just five years later we would be celebrating the sale of our 75,000th unit?”
During our evening reception, plaques were also presented to Lee Pin Chie, Technical General Manager of Yang Ming Line – the largest Asian customer for the LXE10E; Pao Meng Lung, General Manager for Equipment and Operations for Wan Hai Line – the first overseas carrier to buy the LXE10E; and Esben Jakobsen of Royal Arctic Line A/S, the first European carrier to buy the LXE10E.
